For best results apply to lightly damp hair or spray the roots with water.
Fold the hair dazzle in half. Hold 3 inches from the fold, creating a loop.
With the opposite hand, reach into the loop and pull the other end through the loop. Put your thumb and index finger into the loop and you now have your slip knot.
Thread 2-3 strands of hair through the loop of the slip knot. Pull the slip knot tight to the root of the hair. If doing yourself, have someone else press down on the knot to hold it in place while you tie. The closer you tie the knot to the root, the longer you're hair dazzle will last.
If you're having trouble securing the knot at the root of the hair, try this. Pick up each end of the hair dazzle, one in each hand, keeping the slip knot at the hair root, pull gently in opposite directions until tight and secure. Then, take both ends of the hair dazzle in one hand and the hair in your other hand and tie them together. The hair and the hair tinsel get knotted together. Once the knot is at the base of the hair shaft, pull knot tight. Now, drop the hair. If you want the hair dazzle to last for up to a few weeks - tie a second knot with the hair and hair tinsel at this stage. If it's for a night our or weekend, one knot is fine and will be easier to remove.
Pick up each end of the hair dazzle, one in each hand and pull gently in opposite directions until tight and secure. The knot should be at the base of the hair and will flatten out and lock on to the hair.
Tie a knot using each end of the hairdazzle. Again, for extra strength, tie a second knot with both ends of the hair dazzle if you want it to last for a few weeks.
Once the knot is secure, pull each end of hair dazzle, gently in opposite directions. The knot should be at the root of the hair, tight and small.
